This post is dedicated to all the nurses that I have worked with during my career. Especially now, working at Kelowna General Hospital, KGH, I have a much greater appreciation for them, the job they do and what they endure during a shift.

The registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) do an amazing job with all the patients at KGH. I have worked on just about every ward there: the intensive care unit (ICU), the medical wards on 4A and 6W, the renal ward on 5B, and the orthopaedic/neurosurgery ward (4W) where I am currently working. Anywhere and everywhere -- the nurses keep the hospital going.
The nursing teams work like a well oiled machine. They work together to get patients their medications, feed them their meals, help them to the bathroom, offer them emotional support, prepare them for a safe discharge home and so much more.
They do this all the while maintaining their sense of humour.
In appreciation of The Nurses, RNs and LPNs, New Leaf Physiotherapy will be bringing around some treats this week to the various wards in the hospital to say "Thank You".
Thank you for looking after the patients.
Thank you for acknowledging that the patient is just not a patient, but a person with unique needs.
Thank you for respecting, caring and trying to preserve the dignity of the patient.
Thank you for keeping your cool, calm and collected manner (even when circumstances may really push you the other way).
