Lyndsey adores working with the elderly population and has been very involved in assisting with strength maintenance, walking programs, balance exercises, range-of-motion, and post-op hip recovery. Lyndsey graduated from the Rehabilitation Assistant program in 2017 and started working for Interior Health a month later. Her experience has primarily been in long-term care facilities around Kelowna.

Lyndsey was born in Edmonton but moved away with her family when she was just five. She spent the next decade living all over, including Albuquerque (New Mexico!), Okotoks, back to Edmonton and finally beautiful Kelowna, BC.

Raised in a household with very health-conscious parents, Lyndsey learned the importance of eating well and exercising at a fairly young age. She took an interest in the healthcare field and followed in her mother’s footsteps to become a registered nurse. Halfway into the program, Lyndsey decided that this was not the exact career she was hoping for, but she still had a passion for working with and helping people.

After speaking with a friend who had just completed the Rehabilitation Assistant program a year prior, Lyndsey researched the program details and immediately knew this was a profession she would be passionate about!  Lyndsey graduated from the Rehabilitation Assistant program in 2017 and started working for Interior Health a month later. Her experience has primarily been in long-term care facilities around Kelowna. With a large focus being on occupational therapy in these settings.  This has given Lyndsey experience with  fixing and maintaining wheelchairs, setting up therapeutic surfaces for wound prevention and care, brainstorming falls-prevention strategies, and completing one-on-one and group exercise programs with the residents.

Lyndsey adores working with the elderly population and has been very involved in assisting with strength maintenance, walking programs, balance exercises, range-of-motion, and post-op hip recovery.

Lyndsey met Rob while working at KGH and is very excited to expand her knowledge in rehabilitation and recovery practices. Lyndsey has always been fascinated with human anatomy and loves learning about strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and posture training. Joining the New Leaf Physiotherapy team has allowed Lyndsey to turn over a new leaf and start a new chapter of her career.

In Lyndsey’s spare time, you might see her enjoying the outdoor weather and participating in activities like biking, hiking, rock climbing, group fitness classes, and stand-up paddle boarding.
