5) Transportation – it may sound funny but how are you getting to the start line and when are you arriving?  Are buses provided by the race?  Can you drive yourself there?  Are you taking public transit than walking, if so what bus, train?  What station are you getting off the bus/train at?  How far is the walk after?  If all things little questions are answered ahead of time, you race day morning commute will go much easier.
Last fall, 2014, I ran the NYC marathon, I mapped out the day before the race how I was going to get to the start line.  I had to walk about 10 blocks, take the Staten Island Ferry then hop on a bus, then walk for another 20 minutes to find where I started.  I was sure glad I did, there were some pretty panicked looks on some people’s faces as they frantically searched where to go.
